Equitation over Fences horse Aridus (donated by Phil Dawson), Horsemanship horse RSVP With Chips (donated by Aundrea Hanna) and Reining horse Dudes Snapshot (donated by Brad Haggit) were all chosen by the NCEA selection committee based on a formula similar to the student-athlete awards that are announced during the regular season. All horses selected were nominated by the opposing schools at each meet and have shown at least three times during the regular season.
LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) has released its top horses list for 2013-2014 in each of the four events - reining, horsemanship, equitation on the flat, and equitation over fences. This season, NM State had three horses honored. “We take pride in having quality equine athletes as part of our team because in our sport having quality horses is just as important as having quality student-athletes,” head coach Robin Morris-Walters said.
