The Aggies improve to 16-7 overall and 5-2 in Western Athletic Conference play while the Roadrunners fall to 8-13 overall and 1-6 in the WAC.

Courtesy of New Mexico State University LAS CRUCES, N.M. – At halftime of the men’s basketball game against Bakersfield on Thursday, Jan. 30, the NM State Athletics Department will celebrate Wells Fargo Academic Honors Night. This year, NM State will honor approximately 300 student-athletes who have maintained at least a 3.0 grade point average. Game time is set for 7 p.m. in the Pan American Center.

Courtesy of the New Mexico State University DENVER – The Western Athletic conference announced that the New Mexico State softball team is the preseason favorite to win the 2014 league title. The preseason All-WAC team was also announced with junior Staci Rodriguez and sophomore Emma Adams named to the preseason team. The preseason poll is a vote of the conference’s six head coaches, who could not vote for their own team. The coaches also select the preseason all-WAC team.

Jordan and his team won the Western Athletic Conference tournament for the second straight year and made an appearance in the NCAA Tournament for the fifth time in program history. This week: The New Mexico State volleyball team at the men’s basketball game to help celebrate the raising of its 2013 WAC Title banner. Courtesy of New Mexico State University LAS CRUCES – The NM State football team will be hosting a signing day party for the whole community on Wednesday, February 5th beginning at 5:00 p.m., at Danny Villanueva Victory Club on the third floor of the Stan Fulton Athletic Center. “We are extremely excited about this year’s signing class,” head coach Doug Martin said. “I feel this will be one of the strongest recruiting classes we’ve had in years. I hope fans can come out and join us in celebrating our newest members to the Aggie Football family.” Doors open at 5 p.m., with the program beginning at approximately at 5:45 p.m. This special celebration of Aggie football will allow fans to meet head coach Doug Martin and his staff. In addition, the new players that have signed up to be Aggies will be presented to the community.
