Courtesy of New Mexico State University LAS CRUCES, N.M. – New Mexico State softball swept the hitting and pitching honors for the week of Feb. 17-23, the Western Athletic Conference announced Monday. Senior right-hand pitcher Celisha Walker was name WAC Pitcher of the week and sophomore Fiana Finau picked up Hitter of the Week accolades. This is the first honor for both players this season, but the third straight week the Aggies have been recognized by the conference office.

Walker carded four birdies and just one bogey in round one, as his 3-under par currently ties him for third overall.

The Aggies improved to 7-5 on the season and sit on a five-game winning streak.

The Aggies moved to 21-8 on the year and 10-3 in Western Athletic Conference play, while UTPA falls to 8-20 overall and 4-9 in league action.

The honor is the second for the Aggies in as many weeks and fourth for Rodriguez in her career.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State softball team went 2-0 on day two of the Troy Cox Classic with a walk-off grand slam in the bottom of the seventh for a 4-3 win over Northern Colorado and a walk-off single RBI for a 5-4 win over Iowa State. NM State improves to 4-5 on the season.
