ESPN will enforce a blackout in the El Paso Designated Market Area, which includes Las Cruces. This includes tonight’s game against Northern Colorado, which begins at 7 p.m. inside the Pan American Center.

The Aggies are 7-2 on the year and now ranked No. 5 following wins against TCU and South Dakota State.
The glory days of basketball big men towering well over seven feet seem to be in the past. At 7'5", New Mexico State's Sim Bhullar hopes to change that, and unlike the string beans who came before him like Manute Bol, he weighs in at a hefty 360 pounds.
Courtesy of the WAC DENVER – New Mexico State’s Daniel Mullings has been named Western Athletic Conference men’s basketball Player of the Week for Nov. 11-17. Mullings, a junior guard from Toronto, Ontario, Canada (Laurier), led the Aggies to a pair of wins last week against Hawai‘i and UTEP. Mullings scored 21 points on 6-of-11 shooting in a 95-88 win at Hawai‘i. He went 1-for-1 from beyond the arc and connected on 8-of-12 free throws. He also tallied five assists, two rebounds, one block and a steal. Mullings was named to the Rainbow Classic all-tournament team. In an 86-73 win over rival UTEP, Mullings scored a game-high 26 points. He connected on 9-of-14 shots (64.3 percent) from the field and hit 8-of-13 free throws. Mullings also registered two assists, two steals and a rebound in the win. Overall on the week, Mullings averaged 23.5 points, 3.5 assists, 1.5 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 0.5 blocks per game. He shot 60 percent (15-of-25) from the field, 50 percent (1-of-2) from beyond the arc and 64 percent (16-of-25) from the free throw line. Courtesy of the WAC DENVER – New Mexico State senior middle hitter Desiree Scott has been named Western Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 11-17. This is her second WAC Player of the Week honor of the season and of her career. The Tucson, Ariz., native led the Aggies to a win over rival UTEP with a rare kills-blocks double-double, the first double-double of her career. Scott posted 11 kills and 11 blocks, including seven solo, in New Mexico State’s four-set win over UTEP. For the week, Scott averaged WAC bests of 5.00 points and 2.75 blocks to go along with 2.75 kills on .348 hitting. Courtesy of New Mexico State University The New Mexico State volleyball teams wins the Western Athletic Conference regular-season title outright and clinches the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament after Utah Valley falls to Bakersfield in five sets.
The Aggies are currently 13-2 in league play while Utah Valley falls to 11-4 and cannot catch NM State in the standings. It’s not possible for the Aggies to lose the title because every other team in the conference has at least four losses. The Aggies face Utah Valley in the final regular season match on Senior Night, Thursday, Nov. 21 at 7p.m. (MT) in the Pan American Center. The 86-73 victory now gives the Aggies a 105-100 advantage in the 205 meetings between the two rivals. NM State moves to 3-1 on the season while the Miners fall to 1-1.

Courtesy of the WAC Brett Walker, a junior from Ukiah, Calif. (Ukiah HS), helped the Aggies win back-to-back tournaments in the same week in October. Walker won the individual title for the Aggies at the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate after shooting a 6-under par 65 during the final round, tying him for the low round of the tournament. Walker finished with a total score of 6-under par 207 (70-72-65), two shots ahead of the second place finisher, en route to his first career victory at NM State. Walker also finished tied for sixth overall at the Price’s Give Em Five UTEP Invite with a three-round score of 7-under par 209 (70-67-72), marking his second top-10 finish of the week. Rotary Club, announced Tuesday that safety Davis Cazares, along with 52 other student-athletes from around the country were selected as nominees for the 2013 Burlsworth Trophy. The 2013 list includes standout players and national statistical leaders from every major conference in the nation.
