Other swimmers nominated: Wright led a strong performance by NAU’s distance freestyle group in the Lumberjacks’ win against San Diego. She won the 1000 freestyle by more than six seconds with a time of 10:25.18 and later placed second in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:09.91. In the 500, she was the second of three Lumberjacks to sweep the top three scoring spots in the meet. The senior also swam the third leg of NAU’s ‘A’ 400 freestyle relay team that finished with a time of 3:42.59, posting the fastest 100 split of the four members of the relay (54.68). To begin the week, Wright finished the UNLV Invitational strong, placing fourth in the mile freestyle as part of three Lumberjacks in the top five. Swimming the 1,650 freestyle for the first time this season, she recorded a time of 16:59.90.
