“It is exciting to have Luis [Medina] honored as player of the month for October,” said head coach Mike Dirks. “He played outstanding golf in both of the tournaments, averaging just over 68 with a win and a tie for ninth. He did not play in our first two tournaments because of a wrist injury, but what a way to come back.”
He won his first individual title during the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate, tying with two teammates with a seven-under-par 206. He followed that up with the ninth-place finish at the Price’s Give ‘Em Five Invitational, carding a 10-under-par 206. He leads the WAC this season with a 70.46 scoring average.
The team resumes play in the spring with the Arizona Intercollegiate in Tucson, Ariz., Jan. 26, 2015.
