Courtesy of the Las Cruces Sun News LAS CRUCES >> First-year New Mexico State baseball coach Brian Green hopes to break in the renovated Presley Askew Field with an attendance record tonight in Game 1 of a three-game set against Incarnate Word at 6 p.m. Thanks to a $1.4 million donation from NMSU alums Mike and Judy Johnson over the summer, Presley Askew's bleachers have grown by one third to 978 with seat backs. The bleachers, sun screen and work on the dugout and outfield wall was done by ESA Construction and was designed by Williams Design Group of Las Cruces. For tonight's game, additional bleachers (185 seats) were placed along the first base line as the school hopes to break the current attendance record of 1,124 in 2006 against San Jose State. |
