“She played really solid at BYU and she has just been hitting her tee shots and iron shots really well on a consistent basis,” said head coach Jackie Booth. “We are really working on her putting for the upcoming tournament that we are hosting next week. She had a hole-in-one on No. 6 here at NMSU and she had a bogey free round during qualifying recently.”
Orito then placed eighth at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate in Palm Desert, Calif., with an 11-over par 227 (75-75-77). Her five-round average of 74.00 was the best among all WAC players that competed in at least two tournaments during the month.
The Aggies host the NM State Aggie Invitational, Monday-Wednesday, Oct. 6-8 at the NM State golf course with tee-off at 8 a.m. (MT). Admission is free and all Aggie fans are encouraged to come out and support the September WAC Golfer of the Month along with the rest of the NM State women’s golf team.
