Rodriguez, a Paramount, Calif. native, hit .700 with five home runs, 10 RBI, nine runs scored and a stolen base at the Eller Media Stadium Classic last week. She posted a impressive 2.200 slugging percentage and a .824 on-base percentage, and drew six walks over the five games. Rodriguez smashed two homers in a 13-3 win over Binghamton, including her second grand slam of the season. She also had two bombs in a 14-5 win over Seton Hall and added another in a win over host UNLV.
The team went 3-2 on the weekend to improve to a 13-7 record. NM State now looks to face cross-border rival UTEP on Tuesday, March 4 in El Paso, Texas. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. at the Helen of Troy Softball Complex.
