| The win against the Cardinals is also head coach Freddy Delgado’s first win since becoming head coach for the 2014 season. “It’s a great feeling to win this first game. The girls have been working really hard and so it feels good to finally get the results we have been looking for,” Delgado said. Senior forward Jennae Cambra scored both goals for the Aggies in the first half of the game. “We were a lot more dangerous in the attack. Our forwards continue to make plays but we got some great minutes played from our midfield and the substitute forwards stepped up as well,” Delgado said. The Aggies allowed one goal to slip past during the second half of the game after a save rebounded off sophomore goalkeeper Tayler Hammack. Overall, NM State took 22 shots in the game with Hammack having three saves for the Aggies. NM State travels to Omaha, Neb. on Sept. 5 to take on Creighton at 4:00 p.m. MST. |
