“Sasha is having a great year for us and has been instrumental in our current 11-game winning streak,” Aggie head coach Mark Trakh said. “This award is well deserved.”
Weber finished in double figures during both of last week’s games, beginning with a 14-point performance in a 70-53 win over Chicago State. She also added five rebounds and four assists while sinking three of her nine 3-point attempts.
A couple of days later Weber marked a game-high 20 points on 8-of-15 shooting against Missouri-Kansas City in a 78-59 NM State win that propelled the Aggies to an 8-0 start in WAC play.
After Weber’s performances last week, the Lacey, Wash., native is now only 10 points away from becoming only the 20th player in NM State women’s basketball program history to reach the 1,000-point plateau. She will have an opportunity to reach 1,000 points in her home state as the Aggies next travel to Washington to face Seattle U on Thursday.
