The New Mexico State softball team heads into the week with a single game versus I-10 rival UTEP at 6 p.m. on Tuesday in El Paso, Texas. The team then travels to Lubbock, Texas for the Jeannine McHaney Memorial Classic, March 7-9. The Aggies meeting former WAC opponent UT Arlington on Friday, March 7 at 9 a.m. before taking on Northern Colorado at 11:30 a.m. On Saturday, the Aggies have a solo meeting with the Bears and come back Sunday for a 9 a.m. game versus UTA and finish off the weekend at 2 p.m. against host Texas Tech.
Women’s Basketball
The Aggies conclude the 2014 regular season on Thursday, March 6, when the team travels to Grand Canyon. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. (MT) with Jay Sanderson calling the game on KSNM AM570. NM State took the first game of the series 66-63 to begin conference play this season.
Men’s Tennis
The New Mexico State men’s tennis team (7-4) heads out on the road to face former WAC members UTSA at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, and UT-Arlington at 9 a.m. on March 9.
Football
The NM State football team is holding its annual Pro Day, March 5, beginning at 9:15 a.m. in the Coca-Cola Weight Center. The Aggies' annual Pro Day is a chance for NFL scouts to come to campus and work out graduated players. Weight room workouts will begin at 9:15 a.m., followed by a trip to Aggie Memorial Stadium for the 40-yard dash and field drills.
Women’s Golf
The New Mexico State women’s golf team travels to Tarzana, Calif., a suburb of Los Angeles, to compete at the Bruin-Wave Invitational hosted by UCLA and Pepperdine. The three-round tournament will be played Monday, March 3, and Tuesday, March 4, with the first two rounds on Monday and the final 18 holes on Tuesday.
Equestrian
The New Mexico State Equestrian will hit the road this weekend, traveling to Athens, Ga., March 7-8. NM State will face Georgia on Friday, March 7 and Auburn on Saturday, March 8. Currently, the Aggies are 8-3 on the season.
Men’s Basketball
The New Mexico State men’s basketball team plays its final regular season game of the 2013-14 taking on Grand Canyon (14-13, 9-5 WAC), Thursday, March 6 at 7 p.m. (MT) in the Pan American Center. Thursday is also ‘Senior Night’ as the athletics department will be honoring senior guard Kevin Aronisand senior forward Renaldo Dixon as they play their final game in Las Cruces. The game airs on the radio in Las Cruces on KGRT 103.9 FM with ‘Voice of the Aggies,’ Jack Nixon giving the play-by-play action.
