Coaches around the country are calling out their peers to participate with $50 going to the foundation for each head coach and $25 for each assistant. If a coach chooses not to take the challenge, they should donate to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. If the selected coach does rise to the challenge, the coach who called on them should donate the money.
Inoue called on Alli Mollet, assistant coach at Chico State, Lindsey Foster, assistant coach at Cal State Northridge and Dr. Carmen Rodgers, Director of Academic Services at NM State to continue #Chillin4Charity. Hughes challenged Emily Roberts, assistant coach at Elon University, NM State head softball coach Kathy Rodolph and Aggie cross country/Track and Field assistant coach Adriana Osorino. The Kay Yow Cancer Fund was named for the former North Carolina State University head women's basketball coach who was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1987. She passed away on January 24, 2009 after facing her third bout with the disease. Since its inception, the fund has raised $8 million and allocated $3.8 million for women’s cancer research.
