Courtesy of the WAC DENVER -- The 2012-13 academic all-WAC men and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s indoor track and field, women’s swimming and diving and gymnastics teams have been announced. A total of 346 winter student-athletes were named to the list. To be eligible, a student-athlete must have completed at least one academic year, have at least a 3.00 cumulative grade point average and have participated in at least 50 percent of the team’s contests.

Courtesy of NMSU Athletics Las Cruces, N.M. -- Thousands of competitors and spectators flocked to the Field of Dreams over the weekend to participate and watch the Gus Macker 3-on-3 basketball tournament, including the New Mexico State football team. The Aggies were not out competing but out to support the participants, while helping with the clean up following the tournament. Offensive linemen Valerian Ume-Ezeoke, Isaiah Folasa-Lutui, Ryan Arbelaez, Davonte Wallace, Dada Richards, quarterback Andrew Manley and running back Brandon Betancourt all participated in the event.

The Aggies helped out former NM State baseball players and current 3rd grade teacher Erik Nyquist. The Aggies face Dallas Baptist this weekend, April 5-7 at Presley Askew Field. The Aggies had six first-team selections, one second-team pick and two honorable mention honorees.
