"I'm extremely proud of our student-athletes academic success and it’s truly an honor and privilege to work with so many dedicated students-athletes who represent NM State with the utmost respect," Associate Athletics Director/Sport Administrator James Hall said.
The NM State soccer team landed seven student-athletes on the list, followed by the volleyball and women’s cross country each with six, while men’s cross country added two honorees.
“As we always do, we try and put out a great product on the soccer field, but as equally important is that we try to be successful in the classroom and our athletes do a great job of balancing both,” interim head women’s soccer coach Freddy Delgado said. “We are very proud to have a large number of our student-athletes placed on the Academic All-WAC team.”
“We are really proud of the effort and drive of these six student-athletes, not just in the gym but in the classroom,” head volleyball coach Mike Jordan said. “It’s nice to see their hard work being rewarded.”
“It’s always nice to see the fruition of our athlete’s hard work in the classroom come at the end of the season,” assistant track and field/cross country coach Chris Huff said. “They are student-athletes first and our athletes take great pride in that.”
