Rodriguez, a centerfielder for the Aggies, started every game last season. She led the team with 20 home runs and 63 RBI, while being named WAC Player of the Year. Dodd, had eight home runs and 35 RBI a year ago finishing second in both categories for NM State. Adams played 54 games last year at third base and started 48. She finished with a .286 batting average and had 38 hits in her freshman campaign.
Walker finished with a 3.51 ERA a year ago while McAdams threw a 3.16 ERA. The right handers had winning records in 2013 with Walker making 11 starts and picking up two saves.
Covarrubia, a middle infielder, rounds out the list of Aggie players on the All-WAC second team. The redshirt senior played 44 games and started 43. She scored 24 runs off 34 hits and brought in nine RBI for the Aggies.
Grand Canyon had five named to the preseason list, including a league-high four first team performers. Seattle had four selections, Utah Valley garnered three selections and the lists were rounded out by two from both Kansas City and Bakersfield.
The 2014 season begins Friday, Feb. 7, with the Aggies hosting the Hotel Encanto Invitational. The 2014 WAC Softball Tournament, hosted by Seattle U, will be held May 8-10, at Logan Field in Seattle, and will include all five eligible teams.
