Cowgill joined the Angels in June of 2013 and has ties to Coach Green as he was an All-American at the University of Kentucky in 2008.
“We are beyond honored to have Collin Cowgill as a featured guest to meet and greet with our Aggie Baseball alums. What an exciting weekend for Aggie baseball.” Green said. “With our new athletic director Mario Moccia who logged one of the best seasons in program history, former coaches and players and now to have Collin [Cowgil] in attendance, we are pumped for the weekend. We are excited for Collin as well as he just signed on for another season with the Angels. From a personal standpoint, the way that Collin made me feel as a new coach when I got to Kentucky, is exactly the manner we hope that our alumni relationships are formed and continue to thrive.”
Coach Green mentioned that the alumni will be blown away by Cowgil’s passion and energy level for the game and cannot express enough what an honor it will be to have him in Las Cruces.
Along with those mentioned above, former Aggie baseball coach Jim Kwasny, who managed the team from 1969-82, will be in the Aggie Alumni dugout. Kwasny finished his career at NM State with 300 wins under his belt.
Fans have an opportunity to pick out their season tickets at the Alumni Game and Fan Fest while there is an opportunity for postgame autographs. Come out and grab a hot dog as the concession stand will be open with specials going on throughout the game.
