“Karysta showed great composure and maturity this weekend,” Aggie head coach Kathy Rodolph said. “On Friday she didn’t feel like she had her best stuff, but she made the most of what she had. She was a calming force for us each time she went in. It’s very exciting to watch her evolve into a high level competitor.”
Donisthorpe started three of five games last week for the Aggies, picking up the two wins to improve to 10-2 on the season and help NM State to 10-straight wins. She appeared in a total of four games, not allowing a run in three of those games while finishing with a 2.14 ERA and 16 strikeouts on the weekend.
The Aggie right-hander began the week with a complete-game shutout of Tulsa, scattering five hits with only one walk. She then picked up her first save of the season the following day against Tulsa after stepping into the circle to get the final two outs of the contest. Donisthorpe concluded the week by striking out nine batters while not allowing an earned run in a win against North Dakota.
Donisthorpe and the rest of the NM State squad play Middle Tennessee on Tuesday at noon at the NM State Softball Complex before heading out to San Diego to compete in a weekend tournament.
