Kastigar, a sophomore from Aberdeen, S.D. (Central HS) won three individual events and was a member of the winning 400 medley relay in a dual meet victory over New Mexico State on Saturday. She opened the meet swimming the butterfly leg of the 400 medley relay that won with a time of 3:51.47. She then posted victories in the 200 fly (2:03.15), 500 free (5:03.72) and 400 IM (4:25.20). Her altitude adjusted times in all three events are the best in the WAC so far this season.
Courtesy of NMSU DENVER — Grand Canyon’s Hannah Kastigar and New Mexico State’s Lauren Reifel have been named the Western Athletic Conference Women’s Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively, for October 6-12. Lauren Reifel, a junior from Fortville, Ind. (Mt. Vernon HS) won both springboard events in the dual meet against Grand Canyon. Reifel scored 252.23 points on the 1-meter and 252.30 points on the 3-meter to post the top scores in the WAC this season.
