Shrivastava led the Aggies to their first victory of the spring schedule as NM State defeated Texas State in a dual match at the NM State Tennis Center on Sunday, 5-2. She won matches in both singles’ and doubles’ play.
She began the day by winning a doubles’ match alongside partner and fellow India native Rimpledeep Kaur. The Aggie tandem defeated Ana Laura Gutierrez and Pippa Carr 6-4.
Shrivastava then won her singles’ match at the No. 1 position in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3, over Bobcat senior Monica Pieratt.
Shrivastava continues to be one of the top players in the country. She is the top player in New Mexico, No. 3 in the Mountain Region and the 122nd-ranked player in the entire country.
NM State continues its spring dual-match schedule by heading to Las Vegas, Nev., for three matches this weekend. Shrivastava and the rest of the Aggie squad meet Pacific on Friday, Kansas on Saturday and UNLV on Sunday.
