“The atmosphere was electric and the crowd noise was amazing,” said NM State Coach Marvin Menzies. “It was a great way to celebrate our seniors and the season we had. Thanks for giving us a great memory.”
The Pan American Center’s seating capacity was reduced with the renovations.
The game was the sixth game since the renovation that boasted an attendance of better than 11,500.
The Aggies (21-10, 13-1), the regular season Western Athletic Conference Champions, will play again on Friday in the semifinals of the WAC Tournament at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nev.
NM State received a bye and will play the winner of Thursday’s quarterfinal game featuring fourth seeded Bakersfield and fifth seeded Utah Valley. The semifinal tips at 7 p.m. Mountain (6 p.m. Pacific) on Friday evening.
