“It always feels good to give back to the soccer community who support us. We have a great soccer community here filled with talented players so it is nice to show our gratitude,” head coach Freddy Delgado said.
The participants where then encouraged to support the Aggies as they competed against each other in the annual Crimson and White Scrimmage.
Senior forward Jennae Cambra scored the only goal in the scrimmage for the Crimson team with an assist by Sara Walters during the first half of the game.
“Its always good to play in front of a crowd to shake off the initial nerves that come up but with this scrimmage the girls will be ready for the season opener,” Delgado said.
NM State opens its season against Texas State on Saturday, Aug. 24 at the Soccer Athletic Complex.
“This season, our mental toughness and competitive attitude have improved. If we keep this same mindset, we will really have a successful season,” Delgado said.
